Racer

With all the modern racing games that are ultra-realistic and complicated, it's nice to know that there are some games out there that capture the joy of auto racing without all the frills and technical details. Racer is one of those old-style simple racing games, where all you have to do is move your car from side to side and avoid crashing into other cars or obstacles (grab gold blocks along the way for points).

You're on "cruise control" the whole time. It is very similar to Atari 2600 Grand Prix in gameplay except you can't control your speed.
