With primitive text-based graphics and a keyboard-only interface, this remake of Minesweeper (one of the games that comes with Windows) may come across as rather dry and dull. Nonetheless, for those who like using the keyboard to play games, this is a welcome departure from the Windows version of Minesweeper.

For those who don't know what Minesweeper is and/or how to play it, here's how it goes: You start with a map with lots of squares, and your job is to find where the mines are without uncovering them, and to uncover all squares that do not have mines.
If you uncover a square and it has a number, that number indicates how many mines are next to that number in the surrounding squares. If you find a square and you think it has a mine, you stick a flag on it.

The annoying things about this game (and also Windows Minesweeper along with every other clone/remake) are that you lose after only one mistake and often you're faced with a 50/50 lucky shot after so much brain work getting you so close to victory.

Worth a try if you are a die-hard Minesweeper fan looking for some variety.
