Super Solvers: Outnumbered is a fun game that also allows you to improve your basic Math skills. The game was designed for young students aged 7-10 but even adults can enjoy this game especially if they have a lot of time in their hands and don’t have anything better to do. The game can be difficult for 7 to 10 year old skills who have difficulty with Math but it can be played with the assistance of parents so that it becomes an interactive Math tutorial tool.
The game was released by the Learning Company and can provide players many, many hours of gaming fun.
The game is composed of mini-puzzles that tested a student’s Math skills. You won’t really feel like you’re doing Math puzzles because they are guised in good games that really offered a lot of entertainment to the gamers.
As the Super Solver, your goal is to save the Shady Glen TV Station from Mortimer Maxwell (Morty). To save the TV station for Morty’s mischievous plans, you need to go through different levels solving word and math puzzles. In each room of the TV station there is a puzzle that you need to solve. Once you finish the puzzle for that room you get the code that will give you access to the next room in the TV station. If a child is having difficulty answering the puzzle there is a basic calculator that the child can use.
In one of the halls you will come face to face with the evil robot Telly. Telly will make you solve some basic Math questions. When you successfully finish the puzzles that Telly asks you to solve, you will get the code that will give you access to where Morty the Master of Mischief is.
The graphics are fun and interesting. The characters are colorful and will keep children’s interest for a long time. The sounds add to the whole fun vibe of the game. The controls are very easy to learn so young students won’t have difficulty playing the game.
The “Super Solver” is actually a non-descript character and the antagonist Mortimer is mischievous but not exactly evil so you have a game that is highly educational and appropriate for kids. This is probably one of the games that can be credited for love of puzzle games to this day.
I highly recommend this game and other educational games from The Learning Company to help your kids learn valuable skills and lessons while playing on their computers.
