Number Crunchers was a game that every kid looked forward to on computer day! I started playing this game at the tender age of seven. Back then, when you were eaten by another Troggle, the sudden sound was enough to make you jump right out of your skin! The computer lab was noisy with the sounds of children playing and being eaten, all in the name of educational fun.
Back then it was such a challenge, and it would be wonderful to share that challenge with the generations that follow. I was always terrible at math, but this game made that subject more than bearable, it made it something to look forward to. Now if they would just implement this game in college, I think that it would make the college math experience much smoother!
This game not only taught math, but it showed little humorous clips like the "crank call" amongst others. What kid wouldn't be amused by that? This game with all of its surprises and humor would have a computer classroom full of school age children bursting in laughter all over the place. Whoever came up with this game must have been a genius, because that was the one of the few things about math that piqued my interest! Playing this game will bring you back to a much simpler time in your life when the only numbers you had to worry about were on you computer screen and not in your checking account. Simple as the game was, it gave you a reason to look forward to going to school. I remember getting up in the morning and moving as quickly as I could to get ready for school because it was "Computer Lab Day!"
The first few hours of class was met with children squirming and writhing in their seats just trying to make it until it was time to walk to the Computer Lab. This is the game that started me on the journey toward becoming a computer geek! That little green guy was the gateway to my better understanding of math and I'm sure that my children feel the same way. Who knows what the future holds? In another twenty years, one of OUR kids might be sitting in a chair writing a review about this game and the impact it's made on their lives and math education. I certainly can imagine that! If you like to reminisce about the days past when you were a kid, or you just want to introduce your children to a funnier kind of math, then this is the game for you!
