Alright, I played this game a few years ago. Not only was this my first game of the genre, to this day it remains one of my favourites.
The artwork: impeccable. Sure, you can look at the adult content aspect of it, but my thoughts remain on the quality of the in-game art. Playing through, even the first time, you recognize the details that make this game worth playing. A cracked door with an eye peeking through, just the right amount of shadowing, and continuity are just examples of what the game-art has to offer.
And, to the adult content: There's no question, to me, of its ability to accomplish what it aims for. It is often, in a word, scorching. The women are beautiful, the attention to detail stays just as apparent, and there are many, many shots that do nothing but leave you wanting for more.
By far the best part of the game though is the freedom in choice. There are so many things you can choose to do (or not do), that the game is incredibly variable. There are side stories and achievements that you can choose whether or not to bother with, different ways to go about those choices, and different outcomes based on just how you choose to act. More than likely you'll end up playing like I did, saving before as many decisions as you can so you can go back later and see all the different ways to play, since it's impossible to see them all the first time through. And when you think it's all over... look for the different endings. There are some good combinations to find. There are also ones you probably don't want to end up with. This leads to the next part.
There are wrong ways to play. There are outcomes you won't want to reach. Some people don't like that in these games. I do. They make it more of a game than a series of images to a story. I like the ability to choose different outcomes, to do things the right way. It makes it easier to get into the game.
The only thing that wasn't terribly exciting (pardon the pun) about the game is the overarching storyline. Aspects of it are interesting, but the frame of “Vengeful younger brother sleeping his way through the daughters of his nemesis” seems less than inspired.
If you like this genre of game, I'd be surprised if you haven't played this one yet. If you do and still haven't, go for this one. You'll like it.
