Winplex is a remake of the classic DOSgame Supaplex. You have to go through all the 111 levels in a package and pick up the infotrons, avoid the scissors and falling stones and do some other puzzle work.

Most remakes don't really give you the feeling that you are playing the game which it is based on, but Winplex does succeed in this. It is still simplistic and has some little adjustments to the graphics to make it look a little better, but the gameplay still stays the same.

Winplex doesn't only have the original level pack, which contains 111 levels, but also a lot of additional level packs. There's also a level editor, which allows you to make your own levels. Winplex is shareware, but it doesn't give you any limitations.

This game is a must-have if you once played Supaplex and got addicted to it, but never managed to finish it. Try it again and if you finished it, there are more than 2400 other levels to finish!

Winplex does not sound like a very appealing title but do not let this unusual title deter you from taking the time to try this game out though. The player controls a simple, red, pacman like creature and guides him through a maze to get to the internet-explorer-shaped logo. Sounds simple? Not really. Sometimes you have to collect tricolor objects, avoid blue boulders, push buttons, dodge obstacles, and solve puzzles in this unique puzzle game.
Anybody who likes puzzle or strategy games will definitely be satisfied with Winplex. The graphics can be a little hard on the eyes when there are more than a few of the many flashing, spinning objects. Nevertheless, the animation is smooth and unhappy. While Winplex is not the greatest with its game art, it will not be so bad as to turn you away.
The controls are very straightforward and uncomplicated. You just move around with the arrow keys. The controls are more quick and responsive than some games I have seen. Mastering the controls is the easiest part of the game.
It is simple, and easy to navigate. The main menu could use a little tidying up, but you can easily get used to it without problem. The unusual need for a username and password to play is rather annoying.
The sound is like the graphics: not the greatest, but it is not the worst either. Having a sound played every single time you move is rather annoying though, and the music is repetitive. Basically, if you don’t like it, there is a mute option on the main menu.
Winplex is a great game. This forgotten treasure of the gaming world will enchant puzzle game lovers yet challenge them at the same time. While it can be difficult, it is never impossible. So take the time, and try out this gem in the mine of forgotten games.
