You are in Christopher Robin's playroom. He is outside, playing in his treehouse in the Hundred Acre Wood. Early this morning, a blustery wind shook the Hundred Acre Wood. It picked things up and blew them far from their owners' houses. Your job is to find the lost objects and return them to their owners. But hurry, because soon the blustery wind may come back and scatter the objects again.

The graphics of Winnie the Pooh in the Hundred Acre Wood aren't very good, but if you like Winnie the Pooh and his mates, you might like to play this game.

Winnie the Pooh in the Hundred Acre Wood is an excellent game, a real throw-back to my childhood. I remember begging my parents to play, then would spend hours and hours replaying over and over again.
The game play is very very simple, therefore suited very well to young children and toddlers who want to play a computer game. The premise is simple: a gust of wind has blow objects all over the Hundred Acre Wood, and it's your job to go out and find them to bring them back! Not only that, but you also have to figure out what object belongs to who. All the great characters from classic Winnie the Pooh stories are there, like Eeyore, Tigger, Owl and Piglet, and you're Winnie the Pooh who has to go around looking for the items. It is a great game for children because the gameplay is so very simple: There is no typing or complicated input. Instead, the game provides different options for behaviors at different instances of the game. Then you pick the options to play, so you might choose to walk to a different part of the hundred acre wood, turn around, pick up an object, or give it back to its owner. It is quite simple, but it's addicting and exciting for children. Also, there is the added excitement of a slight time incentive. The brisk wind that moved and scattered all the objects in the first place might return at any moment, so you have to go quickly and find all the objects before it returns and blows everything away again!
This game is really fun to play. The graphics are, granted, very rudimentary and reflective of the computers that it was made on. There is no animation of worth to speak of, and the colors and shading leave quite a lot to be desired. But, honestly, what child cares about realistic rendering and the like? This game encourages thoughtful game playing, as the player can only pick up one item at a time, you must think quite carefully while playing about what you have and where you need to take it. Once you drop an object, it remains in the same place so you can come back and find it. However, all the objects are randomly hidden at the beginning of each play, so it is a game that can be completed and replayed over and over again. I really recommend this game, as it is really fun and a throw-back to computer games of ancient times!
