This game is very similar to Boulderdash, get the diamonds, don't let anything fall on top of you. Has awesome graphics and decent gameplay. Not much else to say about this game, it's yet another version of a classic game that has been redone so many times. Compared to other Boulderdash games, this is more of the same.

Reviewer: Haids I really dug this game! My sister and I rented it from Blockbuster when we were little girls and it was so much fun! We used to argue over who would play first. I always used to shout, "I'M THE DIAMONDS!" before she could and we would giggle uncontrollably. It was very challenging to avoid the stuff that would fall from the top, but with skill, we were able to do it. The best part were the DIAMONDS, of course! I liked the various colors that they would come in, especially the pink ones. When I got a little older, I compared this game to the Windows game pack game, "Chip's Challenge," and the other game with the bouncy ball, "Diamonds." In a similar time frame, this was also similar to "Dig Dug." (What's with underground games? So silly!) I also enjoyed getting the keys, in their various colors, and unlocking the doors with the coordinating color.
The little character who plays the hero is a good old-fashioned 8-bit character of the days of gaming glory. I love how he never stains all the bright yellow that he wears the entire game! That brings me to my next point: the colors in the game. Like I said before: 8-bit. The colors are so flashy and bright, much like the original King's Quest games and Colonel's Bequest, which were written by the ever-impressive Roberta Williams.
As others have said before me, this was the best Boulderdash game ever made. It's challenging, it's fun, it grabs your attention, and it brings back such great memories of the days of yore. You have to wonder, though, who comes up with these titles. I mean, let's be a little more creative than simply stating the main two objects that you see in the game: "Rocks," which fall from the ceiling, and "diamonds," which you are striving to collect. That's about as creative as the brilliant movie title "Snakes on a Plane." But anyway, I really loved this game when I was a little girl and just thinking about it again brings back a certain kind of nostalgia--the kind of nostalgia that can only come from a child of the late eighties, early nineties, who has seen it all when it comes to video games. The old ones, like "Rocks and Diamonds" are what lay the foundation for the games we have today. Download Rocks and Diamonds (rocks.zip)
