This game is extremely similar to Boulderdash, in this case, you control a groundhog named Toxic; your job is to get all the waste barrels. Avoid hazards like monsters and falling rocks that may get in your way.
Quite an interesting game indeed, should be fun if you like Boulderdash and/or similar games.

First of all this is a DOS game, but you don’t need a DOS emulator to play is. This game plays a lot like Pac-Man, but you are a mutant groundhog named Toxic. You destroy your enemies in this game by digging through dirt that is under the boulders and letting the boulders fall onto the enemies. Be warned though that when an enemy dies it explodes and when an enemy explodes if another enemy is close enough it may get caught in the explosion and die. You can kill quite a lot of enemies this way. And in some spots in the game you in to use the explosion the enemy causes to break through some walls to move through the level. The point of this game is to collect waste barrels, which give you point. One waste barrel equals two hundred points.
The storyline behind the game Toxic the Groundhog is that Toxic was once an ordinary groundhog until contact with some toxic waste mutated him and on he is something between a human and a groundhog. It then makes a joke about the teenage mutant ninja turtles. For some reason or other Toxic has to pay bills like any normal human does. And thanks to his mutation, Toxic is now immune to toxic waste. He is a groundhog which we all know are good at digging, so he went into the toxic waste cleaning business. He digs up the toxic waste barrels from an area and brings them to where they can be safely disposed of. Toxic also deals with any and all dangerous mutants in the area, as well as any other dangers in the area.
In the storyline Toxic is called to his boss’s office, where Toxic complements on how nice of a guy his boss is. Toxic also mentions how much of a thankless job him and his boss have. When Toxic gets to his boss’s office his boss tells him that they have big trouble and Toxic tells his boss “what else is new”. Toxic’s boss tells him that the old lode mine has been secretly being used as a toxic waste dump. And that something has happened we don’t know what, but some people have been killed there. Basically Toxic is sent to this lode mine to gather up all of the toxic waster barrels and to stop the mutants from getting out of the mine.
Oh and before I forget, once you get into the game you only use your keyboard. The keys that you use are the arrows keys and Esc to blow yourself up. You can only get back to the main menu after all three of your lives are gone.
