This game is similar to Qix/Kix/Xonix, try to draw lines without letting the bouncing balls hit them. When the line reaches a wall, part of the area is covered. When enough of the playing field is covered, you move on to the next level. If the ball hits the line you are in the process of drawing, you lose one "life". Overall, a decent game that sticks to the classic formula of Qix.

Reviewer: tcove1 The game Strong Lines is a fun game to play, although it is not that difficult at first. What you have to do is draw lines in the space where the balls are floating. However, while you are drawing the lines, the bouncing balls might hit the lines. You want to make sure that the balls floating around do not touch the lines you draw. When the line you are drawing has reached the wall, part of the whole area is blocked off which means that the balls have a smaller space to bounce in. If one of the bouncing balls hits the wall you are in the process of drawing, you lose a life. You continue to draw lines until the space is as small as possible. The graphics of this game are a little old fashioned I think, but it doesn’t ruin the game in any way. I don’t think it really matters much because you are covering the space anyway. Therefore, the graphics are appropriate for the type of game that this is. Although the levels do get more difficult as you complete each one, a person can easily make their way up to go on to the next one with more practice. It is a good game to practice your speed and your ability for spatial reasoning since you need to make sure you are watching the pattern of the balls while drawing the lines in another direction so it can reach the wall all the way. I think it also helps a person learn how to multitask because you have to look at one place on the screen while trying to do something completely different on another part of the computer screen. Some things that could be improved about this game are that as the levels go on and you complete each one, there isn’t much difference besides the difficulty and isn’t as much fun to play because you have figured out the key to playing. Also, even though graphics are not an absolute necessity while playing this game, more interesting graphics would make it more exciting while playing. I would recommend this game for any age because there is no violence and it is easy to figure out how to play. Although it is not actually educational it can help to improve other skills that a person may need such as speed and multitasking. Overall I think this is a fun, simple game to play that is good for someone of any age. Download Strong Lines (slines.zip)
