This is a rendition of a moderately popular solitaire game called Spider Solitaire. This card game uses a 104 card deck (2 decks) and the object is to make all the cards return to 8 foundation piles. You have some columns of cards, to move a card, it must land on an empty space or a card one rank higher than itself (eg: a 5 goes on top of a 6, a Queen goes on top of a King, etc.
) Aces low, kings high. If many cards are on top of each other of the same suit, like 8,7,6,5,4,3,2,A of hearts in a stack, you can grab the 8 along with all the cards below it. Only the top card/suit common stack is available for pickup.

This is one of the most difficult solitaires I have ever encountered. I played this about 50 times and have never won yet (though I came close to winning a few times). Download this for the ultimate challenge in solitaire gaming.

EGA-Spider is not your classic computer solitaire game. This type of solitaire is called spider solitaire and I think that this is one of the most favorite solitaires of them all. The goal of the game is to get all of the cards in the piles back into order and get them into the foundation pile. Aces are low and Kings are high and the piles have to be the same suit and color, unlike the spider solitaire you can play on your computer. Multiple cards can be moved together at one time, just like in regular Solitaire, as long as the stack isn’t separated by a card that is of a different color or suit, even it is the right sequence of numbers. It can be a very easy type of solitaire to win, if you know what you are doing. Not watching where you set your cards on the ten separate columns or stacks could cost you the whole game. Cards automatically go into your foundation pile when you make a whole set from King to Ace. However, there are eight sets of cards instead of four like regular Solitaire because it is made of two decks of cards and not one. To move the card, you have to have either an empty space in one of the ten columns or the card one above the one you want to move, for example Ace goes on top of two or Queen goes on top of King.
Graphics are great. Now, when I say great, I don’t mean great like high definition TV, crystal clear picture great. I mean 1990's, primary colors, pixilated graphics great. Colors are kind of flat and that can make for some eyesores. I would say it is kind of a waste of a game good graphics or not because now you can play this game for free online or on your computer. Buying, or downloading, this game would be just a waste of time and money.
But, if you want to take a trip back to the early 90s when Nintendo was alive and Windows 95 wasn’t even in the foreground, this would be a game for you. Any kind solitaire is addicting and easy to play. EGA-Spider, however, I think, is even more addictive than any other kind of solitaire. And when played right, it can be won, or lost, in a matter of minutes. This makes it a great game to play during a break at work or for hours when you want to be brainwashed by a mindless, but flat-looking game.
