In this game you control a happy face that tries to get all the diamonds to finish the level. There are things like fountains, elevators, and creatures that you need to pass through. Plenty of hazards to overcome. In essence, get all the diamonds, try not to die. Movement is similar to ZZT and Kingdom of Kroz except that your happy face is bound by gravity and you can only jump or climb one block.
Has very primitive graphics and sound, and is a very hard game that requires a lot of thinking, attention to detail, and patience. Overall, one heck of a brain teaser sure to drive you mad.

If you liked ZZT and Kingdom of Kroz, this game takes your experience to a whole new level.

(Note: On Pentium or faster computers, this game needs MoSlo or other CPU slowdown utility to play at a sensible speed.)

The Game with No Name is a game worth your time. Very few games manage to be so simplistic, but also quite enjoyable to the point you want to play it over and over again. The concept is far from anything mind blowing, and at first glance, the game itself looks like nothing special. For those who grew up with the Atari, it is very much so a game of its kind. While aggravating most of the time, it is also easy to get back into. After hitting the keyboard once or twice, and eventually taking a break from the pc entirely, you will find yourself playing this game again.
The addictive nature may be the overwhelming joy you receive once you realize that you are in fact, a smiley face. Not only is this awesome, but it adds to the overall experience. Basically, the smiley face is an evil greedy beast, (Or a very hungry man) who must go around and devour what can best be described as diamonds. Straight forward, right? WRONG, this game is insanely difficult. Not only does it test your intelligence and everything else your teacher said that you would need in order to progress through life, but the game really tests one's patience. There are many things that are trying to prevent the player from reaching his goal. All of which are seemingly impossible obstacles, elevators, lifts, creatures of some sort, and basically everything else the designers wanted to through in there. You are doomed to death if you are not thinking at your full potential. Some flash games work around this concept, but require you to use your mouse and what not.
This game is sadly not as easy. The smiley face moves a pixel at a time, and there is no chance you will just be speeding your way through each level. If you do not pay attention to where you are moving your smiley face, you are bound to fail. When your patience wears thin, you wonder why you are still attempting to get past an obstacle instead of stopping. I personally think while the game is fun, addictive, and a nice challenge, it can be greatly dangerous to one's self control. Most people won't appreciate the seemingly ancient design, colors, and other things that many would consider 'attributes'. This is a game, not for players wanting to be "WOW"ed, but rather a game for the easily entertained and the exceptionally intelligent.
Great game, worth the play, the time, and what not. Not worth having to buy a new keyboard though.
