The graphics are grayscale/B&W, albeit quite nice. The game is silent. This game is pretty much another Asteroids game, except that there are walls. It is very difficult and presents quite a challenge since it can be hard at times to control your ship. To play this game, you need lots of patience and quick reflexes. If you don't have both of those, don't download this game since it may frustrate you.
Overall this is a decent game with limited appeal. If you like Asteroids, this game is worth a try. If you've never played Asteroids-like games before, you may want to get a different Asteroids-like game.

Vectoroids is a great game, quite similar to Asteroids. It combines the arcade style gameplay of 'Asteroids' with the excitement of 'Tanks', which turns it into a whole now style of gameplay. It has lots of nice flashy neon colours that make it attractive and eye catching.
The basic aim of the game is to shoot at everything that moves, blasting all objects into smaller chunks, and destroying each one eventually. Try to avoid being hit too often, since it results in losing your limited amount of (3) lives. Just like a typical asteroid game, the player's ship follows the "Pacman rule" as in when the player slides completely to the left, he apears at the right, yet moving in the same direction. Also, the player's ship moves with momentum, adding an aditional challange to the game (it does eventually come to a stop if the player doesnt foreward thrust the ship for several seconds, which may be dangerous, since you must move continuously in order to avoid collision from the asteroids). As the player destroys more and more asteroids, different shaped and coloured asteroids appear, with different speeds and sizes. The levels continue up to infinity, which makes this game a "get the highest high score game".
It is, as said before, a platform game, with simple movement in four directions. As opposed to the Descent series, it does not allow a full 360 degrees of freedom environment, or a vast array of weapons, it does, however, hook the player quite easily to the game. Vectoroids can be played during any occasion. Its quick style game play gives it an excellent way to play in a time crunch. Play it anytime, from a five minute break from work, to several hours of unlimited gameplay. Just watch out for those Lives! Who knows, mabye the destruction of one asteroid might lead to yor lucky extra life?
