Skunny - Lost Space is similar to one of the other Skunny games, Desert Raid. The big difference is that you're not in an airplane this time, but in a space vehicle. You're driving in this special car and you're being attacked by all kinds of aliens. Shoot them before they shoot you, or you will die.

If you liked other Skunny games, I'm sure you like this one too.
It has, as the other Skunny games have too, nice graphics and a good gameplay.

Skunny: Lost in Space is a Fantasy Action Adventure game, developed and published by Copysoft, which was released in 1994.

There were 6 (count em 6!) Skunny games released in the 90s. The series started off with Skunny Cart (Mario Cart ripoff). Skunny: Lost in Space was the second entry, Skunny in the Wild West was the third, Skunny Save our Pizzas (which was the 4th and best in my opinion) Skunny Desert Raid and then finally ended with Skunny Back to the Forest.

I remember playing this game about 15 years ago, never got around to finishing it sadly...some of the platforming can be annoying but this game should be played, great humour, colorful world. Skunny was used in other series' but this one is definitely the standout. Collecting pizza is the main idea of this game, but they don't exactly execute it that well. I was wondering if this game was a prelude to Conkers Bad Fur Day..as the main character seems to resemble him.

It seems like Copysoft was looking for their own Mario or Sonic in the 90's but they never had the values Nintendo and Sega did with their own respective mascots. The name itself sounds silly. But back to the game at hand.

What we have here is a sidescrolling platformer that doesn't do much differently from the others released at the time, aside from making it somewhat comical...I mean, since Noid when have you had to collect pizzas?

The real problem with this game is the difficulty level; it's almost as if they don't want you to get past the first couple of levels. The pet peeve of having enemies run into you (while you're in a car mind you) and causing you damage/ killing you is here in all its glory. The platforming can also annoy you seeing as you usually have to contend with enemies bothering you while you make an already difficult jump across holes. In the end, I can't totally hate this game. It has redeeming qualties, but the difficulty curve just makes it frustrating to play. It would be better served in the hands of a platforming master...which is probably a ten year old kid.

Graphics : 4/5 - great colours for what they had back then
Sound : 3/5 - not bad, but not great, but what can you expect from the nineties?
Gameplay : 3/5 - frustrating platforming but it's somewhat playable

Overall : 3.5/5
