A nice platform game from Union Logic, based on the Xargon game and Jill of the Jungle games from Epic. Although there's a story behind this game, I don't get much of it. Anyway, it is nice to play, there are good graphics, and if you like platform games, you'll like this too.

In the mid nineties, Union Logic Software Publishing set forth the interesting little game, Vinyl Goddess of Mars. It is a standard platform game that somewhat resembles Jill of the Jungle and offers a unique gaming experience.
Vinyl Goddess of Mars stars, of course, Vinyl. Vinyl is a hot little number that goes everywhere dressed in a sexy red leather outfit. She is on her way to a B movie convention when a meteor shower strikes and her space ship crash lands as a result of the damage. She is first knocked off course, and has no real idea where the ship is heading. To avoid damaging herself as well as her craft, Vinyl ejects and lands safely on a strange planet, miles away from her damaged ship. She must explore the planet, find her ship, repair it, and get on her way before missing her B movie convention. Along the way, she must pick up her effects, which were scattered all over the planet during the crash.
Vinyl Goddess from Mars is a very easy to learn platform game. All of the controls are very conveniently located in the right hand corner of the keypad, which is handy so long as you are not left handed. The Control and Alternate keys combine for the offensive manoeuvres Vinyl will need, and her movements are controlled by the arrow keys. The levels are vividly colourful and fresh, even though Vinyl’s character is still reminiscent of Jill of the Jungle. The story is totally different, and it really has little bearing on the game play at all. The levels are also quite well done, and there are many secret rooms and lots of fun things to find and places to explore. The user had best practice his (or her) best moves early, however, because the levels become increasingly more difficult as play progresses.
Overall, the game is not very difficult. There are amphorae of life restoring juice around every turn, making a nearly impossible feat for Vinyl to run out of health points and die. There is a definite knack to aiming weapons and timing jumps, but like all platform games, practice makes perfect.
In short, this is not a bad little game. It is a satisfying play and is recommended for download.
