Supaplex is a great game for everyone!!!

This crazy Pacman dude goes through a maze of mines destroying computer chips as he goes along munching infotrons. While those evil pairs of snik snaks threaten to chop him in half. You will have to avoid them or use a bomb on them.

Both published and released for play on the personal computer by Digital Integration Limited, Supaplex is an intriguing little puzzle game that initially hit the markets in the early nineties. It is basically a knock off of the more famous strategy/puzzle game, Boulder Dash. It plays from the top down perspective and was also ported to other formats, such as the Amiga.
Supaplex is nothing if not highly addictive. While it is a nice strategic puzzle solving game, it is also extremely frustrating. Knowing what the goal is, is not the problem. Accomplishing the goal is the problem. The game comes with over one hundred and ten levels, but there are many more available for download that have been created by fans all over the world. Even with the number of levels included, Supaplex is a really long and engaging game, but with the integration of the plot, the user at least does not feel like he is doing the same thing over and over again. Moreover, the game does require that the levels be played in order, but the user has a one time option of skipping any three levels at a time, which is a huge crutch for relieving the frustrations of that one level that just isn’t turning out the way you drew it up in your head.
So what is the goal of Supaplex? The game is a futuristic version of Boulder Dash, and the goal in each level is to consume all the atoms present and then work your way to the exit to advance to the following level. The user is put into the role of a computer bug who looks a bit like Pac Man. There are many enemies to a computer virus, of course. Anti-virus software is represented by a flying scissors; the dreaded firewall is played by a big bomb; and there are short circuits lying in wait that will fry you. There are numerous other obstacles to negotiate as the levels increase. Fortunately, there are no time limits to make the game even more difficult. The entire game takes place on a printed circuit board.
Overall, this is a fun little rehashed version of Boulder Dash. While one is tempted to miss good old Rockford, the little virus (named Murphy) is just as good of a protagonist, despite the fact that we would hate him in real life. There are a lot of new twists and turns to the game that make it fresh, and a lot of knock offs from Boulder Dash that will make it an instant favorite with fans of that game. It is a good download and should provide hours and hours of satisfying game play.
