Prince of Persia was one of my favorite games back then when the game was pretty much popular. It was popular not for the graphics or the story, but I think because of how realistic it was. You could tell it was very well created.

The graphics are very nice, and I think is one of the best things in this game. It's not in 3D, but if you play it you are going to love it.
It is everything very detailed and you can tell is very well created.

The sound is also good. Because it makes almost the real sound as it was real life. Also I remember when I had my 486, Prince of Persia was my only game with that quality. Not even AITD has those sounds effects.

The game is about a guy, which is a Prince and your goal is to rescue the princess. While you try to rescue the princess, you will have to battle against every moving thing that comes in front of you. And when you battle, you think it's easy? No, it's really hard to battle with the keyboard. Because you need to move, FRONT, BACK, HIT, BACK.. and it's really confusing. The game is quite long and you have 60 minutes to complete, so that biulds more and more preassure on when you play the game.

Overall, the game is more than nice. So if I had to rate it I would give it 6/5.

I remember playing this great game as a kid. Prince of Persia was one of the first computer games I played as a kid after the Commodore 64 became obsolete. It was on my cousin’s computer and every time we were at their house we would play the game trying to get to the next level.
The game itself had some of the best graphics for the time and game play was easy. Basically, you play a prince whose princess was kidnapped. I think. You have to make your way through several hard and puzzling maze-like levels to get to her and save her. On the way you find potions to drink and poisons to avoid, enemies, swords, spikes and platforms that had to be pressed in order to activate doors and such.
Game play is smooth, classic and clean, and definitely an instant favorite if you're a fan of 8-bit. The storyline is hard to follow as I remember correctly, but once you play it, it makes sense. Not to mention HIGHLY addicting and very challenging! It will get your brain moving and will ultimately get you hooked.
All the fun quirks about the dungeons you travel through make the game have one new turn after another. I remember now being afraid of the dungeons because of the fact that spikes popped up randomly and that anything could kill you, and whenever I played it, I could never figure out how to fight the baddies. Nevertheless, even I, as a young child, managed to understand gameplay.
Certain elements make the game really fun. Things like booby traps, secret doors, potions that increase or decrease your life power, and the ever-present wonder of, "Will I get to the princess?" Although slightly violent, the game is great for kids to play.
This first version of Prince of Persia came out right around the time that video games were coming into their own and getting more and more popular. It spawned sequel games but the original, like in most cases, is the best. I think I played this game before my parents got my brother and me the Sega Genesis, which was the coolest present ever. Computer and console games like Prince of Persia, along with the Oregon Trail and Duke Nukem 3D, were the first generation of great video games. Of course Pac Man was a great starter, but video games really began to move into their golden age with the Nintendo, Super NES, Genesis, and the computer games we now call classics. Kids today may have their X-box's, Playstation 3s, Gamecubes, and whatever else, but without the games of our generation, these kids would still be playing Pong.
