Prince of Persia was one of my favorite games back then when the game was pretty much popular. It was popular not for the graphics or the story, but I think because of how realistic it was. You could tell it was very well created.

The graphics are very nice, and I think is one of the best things in this game. It's not in 3D, but if you play it you are going to love it.
It is everything very detailed and you can tell is very well created.

The sound is also good. Because it makes almost the real sound as it was real life. Also I remember when I had my 486, Prince of Persia was my only game with that quality. Not even AITD has those sounds effects.

The game is about a guy, which is a Prince and your goal is to rescue the princess. While you try to rescue the princess, you will have to battle against every moving thing that comes in front of you. And when you battle, you think it's easy? No, it's really hard to battle with the keyboard. Because you need to move, FRONT, BACK, HIT, BACK.. and it's really confusing. The game is quite long and you have 60 minutes to complete, so that biulds more and more preassure on when you play the game.

Overall, the game is more than nice. So if I had to rate it I would give it 6/5.

Prince of Persia the Shadow and The Flame is an improvement from its predessor, though it is by the same producer, Broderbund Software, though Jordan Mechner is not the principal producer now (newer Prince of Persia games are by Ubisoft). The initial levels are somewhat similar to the initial one though as the levels pass by, novel ideas are brought in. These include demons, magic carpet and other things related to the context other than just swordfighting. The prince is of course in a mission to save the princess once again though the Jaffar strikes back by impersonating the prince.
This banishes the prince from his own palace forcing him to tacticly get back his throne. The graphics are quite an improvement with a greater diversity of colours and more realistic and beautiful landscapes. It is not so difficult to pass the first 4 levels though more wit and technique plus intuition on the way to pass the next levels is needed late. Relative to the predecessor, it is more difficult as the previous one was more 'one dimensional' and this one is more '2 dimensional' approaching the 3 dimensions we see today.
Of course, relative to the modern games, it is trapped in the class of being a classic or not sophisticated enough. A person like me, who prefers simplicity and ingenuity in game design and production however would rate this game well. Though I have said that the predecessor was less sophisticated in terms of graphics and difficulty, the predecessor would have seemed to shake the gaming world more due to its radical advance in the field of fighting games unlike this one which was similar to the games of its time.
New features include: turbans on heads, new sword fighting, more focus on fighting skeletons who can't die (like in level 3 Prince of Persia 1), zombie like creatures, acid swamps, demon heads that swoop down, snakes and other beings of the supernatural. In conclusion, considering that this game is widely available for free now a days, I would rate this games as 7 out of 10 and much an enjoyment. The demo ends only on the first level and gives an insight into the graphics, swordfighting expectations and overall structure/plot of the game.
