The graphics are bland yet realistic. The sound and music make you feel like you're really playing pool in a bar. The physics are supreme! Almost exactly like real pool! Also, options and features like cue English and ball projection make this quite a pool game. It is oh-so close to real-life pool you can feel it!
If you like pool even a little, this is the game for you! Even if you've never played pool, it's worth a try!
Reviewer: Aspie I've never been much of a sports fanatic, but my friend insisted that I play Virtual Pool. I really did not want to, but at his nagging I did and he was right! This game was brilliant! The screenplay was not very special but still good. I liked the bright colors. It gave it a realistic vibe. The table is set out in a way that helps you to understand what to do. I have never played pool in my life but I felt as though I was able to understand what to do through the layout. I felt as if I were right there playing pool in a bar room. I enjoyed the game so much that I went looking for other pool games on the internet but this game is by far the best out there.
Virtual Pool is like no other pool game: it gives additional options and features as to what you want to do. Other pool games don't do that. I was very impressed with the game play depth. For a game made over a decade ago, it is quite decent. It was definitely not what I was expecting. Virtual Pool went over and above my expectations. I am thinking of taking up pool now because this game made it seem so easy. Gradually it gets harder as you go along, and at times, quite challenging.
The sound quality is really impressive and the music gives the atmosphere a bar like feel. I highly recommend Virtual Pool for lovers of pool and for people who don't like it or have never played it before. I know you may be skeptical at first (especially if you don't particularly like pool or billiards’), but this game was truly magnificent.
There are also other games in the series (Virtual Pool 2 and 3), which I can't wait to try!
The game is very simple to download and instructions are given as to how to play the game. The controls are very simple to pick up. The motions of the balls and the cue were simply fantastic! This was a really interesting game. I don't really know what else to say except if you have not yet played it; I highly suggest that you do.
