Graphics: 5/5, A fine work of art indeed! Also nice motion. Going fast may give you a little adrenaline.
Sound: 5/5, It's really fun to hear your engine roar!
Gameplay: very hard. Turning is also hard to do without crashing and flipping. The computer players are very skilled and almost never crash or make mistakes. This game may be useful for testing your driving skills due to its realism.
Overall: if you are not a racing game enthusiast, this game may drive you nuts.
Reviewer: Dos-Games-Online The Need For Speed. It may not be the first of its kind but it’s the most well known and the most liked out of the entire racing genre even more liked than its competitors Gran Turismo and Forza Motorsport, giving that the GT series and Forza Series are based for circuit racing on legal terms while the Need For Speed series up to Carbon were illegal circuit racing but both styles of the simulation had one thing in mind and that’s racing. Some hate this series but most love this series, it has more adrenaline pumping moments than both Forza and GT have never reached which pretty much stands out as one of the best racing franchises in the industry today and will be if they keep making the games.
Need For Speed 1, the classic, it's the best game of the series also the most challenging out of all of the series. The physics in Need For Speed 1 when it was first made was the most realistic physics you could get and that, my friend, was impressive giving the age of the gaming technology back then, it was really new and really unexplored but luckily enough it was used time and time again lets hope it can keep evolving.
The graphics, graphics was top notch in that year at least that’s what everyone thought and I cannot agree nor can I disagree, back then the graphics of a game was decent and impressive I might add giving the circumstances of limitations that they had to work with.
The sound, the sound in NFS 1 was rather rough but at least each car had its own engine sound and also each horn sound.
The gameplay, it's challenging when trying to make a car stay on the road and also trying to keep up with the CPU it's harder than Pro Street and the rest of the NFS series.
