Transport Tycoon is a good game, and it is all about transporting passengers, goods and other products. You'll have to build stations to transport all this things. But you're still not there to make money. You have to invest. Buy trains and give them orders so they will transport goods, passengers and all what you can think of. The trains will make money. With that money, you can buy new trains of course, but when there are opponents in the game, you can buy them!

Reviewer: aj_f22 Transport Tycoon is a DOS Based strategy game where the player builds a transportation empire through using the different modes of transport available to the player i.e. Rail, Road, Sea and/or Air Modes. The Player is free to choose a date to start, and is also free to customize the game according to the gamer's ability and level of difficulty needs. As the game progresses in time, the player is given updated choices for different modes of transport that improve in capacity, speed and load factors over time. The game also depends on the effective construction of the infrastructure required to facilitate the easy, efficient and most cost effective transport of goods and passengers.
The Game is realistic when compared to games of within the same genre. The gamer has the ability to check his company's performance, overall load factors, profit/loss data and make future decisions based on that data. Transport Tycoon does a great job in immersing the gamer into the world of business and transport and allows the interested gamer to expand their understanding of that world.
The game itself might seem overwhelming to a new gamer but being very consumer friendly, it is very easy to learn the basics within the first hours of first playing the game. Over time, the gamer will be able to easily scroll around the game to find the information required for him/her to expand the transport company.
The game does have its drawbacks though, the graphics are not the main idea behind this game and hence were kept minimal but realistic. Experienced Gamers will find that Transport Tycoon does not have enough challenges in-game and starting a custom game becomes somewhat boring over time. In addition, some gamers might find that break-down of vehicles occurs more than in usual life and vehicle break downs are very random and can not be foreseen.
Nevertheless, I believe that this is a classic game that should be kept alive by gamers who understand and enjoy strategy games. It is a game that I have learned a lot from, both in the strategy world of gaming and in the real transport world that I currently work in. Transport Tycoon has been an inspiration to me and many other gamers around the globe.
